为中国第一套钢管张力减径机开发孔型和轧制规程

The pass [道次] schedule [计划] was developed [开发] to use tension [张力] to control the wall thickness of the pipe while the pipe diameter [直径] was reduced in the roll [轧辊] gap [辊缝] (the groove [孔型] of the rolls [辊]). Three weeks of tuning in the steel pipe [钢管] mill was needed to test [试验] the designed schedule [计划]. Worked with Prof. Yuqiu Lu, a steel pipe [钢管] production expert [专家] and the former dean of the college of Metal Forming [金属成型] of UISTB [北科大].

Flat rolling [平棍轧制] of the DIN 19Mn6 steel sample [试样] with outer or inner grids (i.e., surface or cross-section [横断面] grids). The rolling [轧制] was done to study the grid behavior during rolling [轧制] and to obtain the rolling [轧制] parameters [轧制参数] and the local [局部] Material [材料] flow. A so-called “stecker-rolling [保留变形区的轧制试验]” was also done by interrupting the roll [轧辊] movement while the stock [轧件] was still in the roll [轧辊] gap [辊缝], so that it became possible to establish the form of the work piece [工作件] in the roll [轧辊] gap [辊缝]. The results from measurement [测量] were used to verify [验证] FEM [有限元] model [模型].

六道次角钢轧制孔型设计始于方坯

Because the hot rolling [轧制] tests [试验] of the angle steel [角钢] rolling [角钢轧制] involved several round [圆] of the tests [试验] and used nearly 100 sample [试样] with grids milled [车铣] on the surface or the cross-section [横断面], roll [轧辊] pass [道次] design [孔型设计] for the angle steel [角钢] rolling [角钢轧制] was carefully performed based on early rolling [轧制] experience. A special roll [轧辊] pass [道次] sequence [道次系列] [轧制道次规程] was developed [开发] through a combination of the butterfly method [蝴蝶法] and the design method for a continuous mill [连续轧机].

DIN 19MN6 steel with the original cross-section [横断面] of 48x48mm was rolled [轧后] at 900˚C in six pass [道次] until the final form of angle steel [角钢] 40x40x9mm was achieved. Outer or/and inner grids were milled [车铣] on the outer surfaces and inner cross-section [横断面] for the entry [入口] shapes [形状] of all pass [道次]. For this, a pre-rolling [轧制] was done to produce entry [入口] shapes [形状] of all pass [道次]. After rolling [轧制], the global [整体] and local [局部] metal flow [金属流动] for all the pass [道次], in outer surfaces and cross-section [横断面], as well as the temperature [温度], force [轧制力], torque [力矩], power [功率], etc. were measured [测量]. The results were used to study metal deformation [金属变形] and the force/power [功率] Requirement [要求], and to verify [验证] the FEM [有限元] model [模型] established for angle steel [角钢] rolling [角钢轧制].

This mill had 8 stands with the last 4 stands tied (driven [驱动] by a single motor [马达]). Due to the high average reduction [压下率], tension [张力] had to be used in some pass [道次] to achieve the finish size [轧后尺寸]. During the design, a simple roll [轧辊] pass [道次] program [孔型设计程序] was created based on MS-Excel by integrating various rolling [轧制] process [轧制过程] model [模型] that were developed [开发] earlier.

在钢锌铝合金喷涂以及涂层质量检测

This was a part of a surface treatment [表面处理] project with Prof. Yuqiu Lu and then Ph.D. Candidate, Angang Hu (now a well-known economist). Used US demonstration equipment to apply the Zn-Al coat [涂层] on the surface of a plate [中板], and then measured [测量] coat [涂层] quality Parameter [参数]. A new coat [涂层] mechanism [机制] was proposed based on microscopic [显微] observation [观察] (800X photographs of the coat [涂层] layer [涂层]) and the measured [测量] data [数据].

浦项特钢公司进行的孔型和轧机设计开发

This was a roll [轧辊] pass [道次] design [孔型设计] and Development [开发] project served as the guideline in the mill design for the POSCO [浦项] Specialty Steel Ltd [特钢公司]. A new breakdown mill [开坯机] is to be added into current plant [厂]. The mill is under various constrain [限制]: (1) Single stand [单机架] reversing mill [可逆轧机], with limited [有限的] number of grooves [孔型] cut on the roll [在轧辊上]; (2) Big ingot (700mm square [方]) and bloom (420mm x 530mm), to be rolled [轧后] into round [圆] 270 ~ 320mm and square [方] 200~300mm, but number of pass [道次] to be minimal due to temperature [温度] concern; (3) Smallest roll [轧辊] diameter [辊径] (new/discard [废弃]) required due to space [空间] and bearing [轴承] restrictions [限制], and so bite condition [咬入条件] is hard to meet; (4) Smallest barrel length [辊身长度] required due to limited [有限的] crane [吊车] capacity; (5) pass [道次] involves both round [圆] and square [方], minimal number of grooves [孔型] hard to achieve; (6) Hard steel to be rolled [轧后], with strength [强度] 30% high than AISI 1080; (7) Some steel with 30% higher spread [宽展] than average, and so the minimal number of pass [道次] hard to reach; (8) Crack [断裂] to be avoided since some steel has low formability. In addition, number of pass [道次] in grooves [孔型] should be balanced to achieve maximum roll [轧辊] life. Satisfied design was achieved with all conditions met, and corresponding roll [轧辊] force/torque [力矩] checkup [检验] also pass [道次]ed.
